They're fast — genuinely fast, the kind that ends a conversation — and they're clever with it. But the part worth the column inches is the signalling. Bright crest, feathered tail, a whole vocabulary of flourishes fired off before they dart away. It's communication, and it is also, unmistakably, theatre. A Sensiraptor walking to the market turns the errand into a small parade of poses.
I cover acts for a living. I know a performer when I see one, and I know the difference between wanting an audience and simply being unable to move through the world quietly. The Sensiraptor is the second kind. That's rarer, and it's better, and it's taste I'll fight for.
