The research ship SASS Nova has opened its volunteer roster, and the reason is turning slowly beneath her hull.
For three weeks the Whirlpool’s pulse has climbed out of its quiet band and stayed there. The ship’s science office now logs energy spikes faster than the team can model them — and by their own admission, the models aren’t holding. “Whatever is feeding the Whirlpool is not on our charts yet,” one researcher told us, standing beneath a suspended model of the thing itself.
That is where volunteers come in. Nova Volunteer Authorization opens the ship’s approved operational areas to civilians willing to help log readings, run stable field reports to Pet Defense, and keep the day-to-day of a working research vessel moving while the science team chases the anomaly.
Registration starts with Marsh at the Nova Reach Welcome Center. Applications go to Anna Turney for review, and approved volunteers are welcomed aboard by Commander Rae himself.
