Reaver Day, for a Pet Almost Nobody Has Seen

Good evening. Today is Reaver Day — a strange thing to hold, when you consider how few confirmed sightings there have ever been.

The legend says every Reaver lives atop a single enormous waterfall, reachable only by flight. That would account for the numbers rather neatly, and nobody has confirmed a word of it. What we do know is the build: heavy, powerful, genuinely intimidating at close quarters.

And here is the part the legend leaves out. Reavers do not know their own strength. When one hurts another creature it is almost always an accident, and by every account we've had at this desk, the Reaver is the more distressed of the two. A rare thing is easy to talk about. A rare thing that is gentle by intent and clumsy by accident is harder to tell properly — and every story matters to someone, so we'll take the time.
