Random events can appear while you play. A curious visitor, an unusual discovery, or a species encounter may turn an ordinary session into a new story.

When something finds you

• Open the prompt and read the choice in front of you.

• Take your time where the event allows it. Not every surprise asks for the same thing.

• Keep an eye on your collection after a special encounter.

Some surprises lead to a species encounter. If a new face catches your eye, the Almanac is a lovely place to learn more about it.
