Halloween Has Reached the Pet Lab

by Bonnie · 2026-10-03

Bonnie here, reporting from the Pet Lab. Mind the clipboards.. and, just for today, the capes. Some of our pets have arrived looking as though they ought to be making a grand entrance through a cloud of purple smoke.

I've been taking a closer look at the Halloween color, and my notes are getting rather crowded. Pointed hats! Dramatic collars! An impressive amount of gold trim! Under all that splendid mischief, there are still familiar faces to fuss over.

A few visitors from my notebook

Dramsi has dressed for a very important midnight appointment: a purple waistcoat, a neat black bow tie, and a smile that suggests the appointment might involve trouble. I have recorded the smile as a separate observation.

Moosh brings a sweeping cape, gold accents, and a pumpkin-topped staff to the lab. The staff is wonderfully theatrical. The Moosh is still wonderfully round.

Sprigcap has a crooked witch's hat, a leafy collar, and a little potion tucked into a satchel. That is a lot of mysterious business for such a small visitor. I've cleared an extra spot on the bench.

Trachops appears ready to guard the entire laboratory in dark armor and a rather formidable mask. Those magnificent wings made quite an entrance. The instruments are still humming about it.

These are only a few of the looks in my Halloween notes. Which pet would you put on the first page of your notebook?

As for how all this Halloween mischief might find its way to your pet... I have a theory. It is missing one rather important ingredient.

Theo, over at The Bubbling Pot, may know more than he's letting on. If you stop by Potion Problem, keep an eye on what he's brewing.

Some answers refuse to stay bottled.
