Field dispatch from LanternSong Hollow: The Gilded Groove rolls in this Saturday, and I've already got questions.

Five players, all brass and bass and swing — the kind of funk that fills a floor and clears a mood. Word from the crew is they turn every show into a block party. Joy, they tell me, is the assignment.

• When — Saturday night at the Hollow. Gates open early, the set starts late.
