Born of fox-quick mischief and pony-warm embers, this little canine pads through volcanic meadows on stumbling paws, its solid rust coat glowing faintly like banked coals. Though it carries the ghost of stripes and the shadow of horns, it never grew either—just a soft, warm heart that adores company.
