Cairnscuttle

Born of stony hops and skittering claws, this small earthen insectoid trundles along on many quiet legs, its plain pebble-toned shell hiding faint speckles it never quite grew into. Though its body seems almost too still to be alive, it hums with a gentle animate warmth all its own.
