Sensipets is an active, evolving world. It has gone through MANY different visuals, here are a few below.
After working with our staff (aka D&D friends) on basic lore - we have a new one that should be very interesting to y’all. More on that soon 😜
When deciding to work on a pet site, we took a hard look at what we had from 2014 Sensipets and considered the importance of them.
One concept we wanted to get rid of was battling. While a common and fun concept in virtual pet sites, we felt it was a bit dated. We know it gives a sense of reward and accomplishment for those who excel at it. Depending on the implementation it can be uninspired and tedious, which we do not want Sensipets to be. Instead we are developing a system that gives users and pets an ability to progress that is less violent. We hope to release this in the next couple of months and look forward to y’all’s feedback. Our focus is to ensure progression systems are interesting and dynamic.
Another concept we decided to move away from is anthropomorphic pets (pets who take on human characteristics). You can see that 2014 Sensipets utilized this concept quite a bit with shopkeepers and other characters. While they are cute, it makes it hard to create a world where a user can own a pet and another of its species runs a store. So we decided that it needed to go. Pets will be an integral part of advancing your character and story, but from a lore and story perspective, we want to keep them contained to being partners.
The last big piece was the setting. Sensipets has had many different versions of the world it’s based on. We are not releasing it today, but here is a sneak peak of what is to come.
This will all make sense once we begin exploring the lore and story more.
