Great updates today!!
Here's some additions that I want to talk about, whether because it was already brought up here or if I just want to touch on it:
Editing Posts - I've noticed I can't edit any of my posts! I'd love to be able to make tweaks if I make a mistake. Staff should probably be able to see changes/past iterations of posts just in case though.
Links & Images - Links & images are a staple of most forums, but noticeably absent on Neopets' neoboards for example. I'm actually not sure if that's because Neopets is archaic or if that's a safety feature, because people usually just direct people to their petpages to see images. I'd love to be able to share images as it would make bug reporting & suggestions much easier if feasible!! For now I don't see anyone being malicious with links, but if things start to go wrong you could probably filter out offsite links.
Art on the boards - As an artist myself, I'd love to see an art subforum to post what I make! An interesting topic that rawr-y brought up were art shops though. Art shops tend to be a staple of 13+ pet games, and are great for creative players. I do have a slight concern however due to the site possibly not being 13+? Setting up an art shop and/or commissioning an artist require understanding a bit about money and communication, and this isn't accounting for offsite payment. While you can moderate onsite payment by checking if one player sent the SC/items and the other send the art, afaik other sites basically say "use offsite at your own risk" for offsite commissions & trades. Maybe, if possible, an art shop subforum could be locked to 13+ players?
Trading/Gifting - A way to gift players & a secure way to trade would be wonderful! For example I've been grabbing a few 1k books while I can before the shops restock so that there'll be more to go around when they retire. If this isn't implemented I'll just occasionally drop them in the Giving Garden to help a random player, but it would be nice to be able to directly give an item to someone specifically looking for it!
What's next?
As for your question, getting the site up to speed with the basics should be the first goal, which would some QOL things like editing posts & user profiles.
