With the new exciting additions to the game I've stumbled upon a slight concern.
With the current availability of SC through the mini games if you beat Expert on the Memory game within the time limit your cap is 40,000
Let's say you manage to win in elementals all 20 times that's another 2,000
and the daily cap on the fruit game is 5,000 daily
This would make the absolute most possible SC earned in a day 47,000
With the new plushes / toys being 20,000 each
Average cost of an updated plush (pinks/maya/white/black) nearly 4,000
Enchanteds being 50,000
and what appears to be a general increase in prices of previously existing items??
My example for this is the food store, I'm seeing a lot less items for under 100SC
This could simply be because the lower ones are not cycling in? Or because the previously under 100SC items were increased in price.
I have no idea which is actually true.
However my point being my current concern is that this current Economic Model isn't exactly sustainable.
My purpose with this post is that this is kept in mind moving forward
I also want to add for clarification purposes that I do understand the enchanted plush are meant to be rare and harder to obtain I have no objection to their prices
What I am attempting to convey is the current limitations on accessibility to resources (currency) limits the productivity and growth of players.
The economy is a big concern for me. Right now a lot of times I just spitball item costs and reward amounts. I have some blogs and articles in my bookmarks around digital economies and how to keep it balanced, but to be super transparent - I haven't gotten around to them and not sure when I will.
A lot of what we are doing right now, is creating fun systems and seeing what you, the fans, think of them. A lot of the reason expensive items have been coming out is because I know there is a huge build up of SC. (Which as you point out - is limiting to the growth of the player base, as newer players do not have that SC pile just sitting around.)
I am afraid of raising rewards on current games, because there are not many - which seems like that type of reward may not feel super impactful. I am afraid of lowering item costs, as it could mean there is nothing for any user to work towards. I don't have too much to say on it yet, but there are new systems coming that should help with item circulation as well as new games in the works.
In one of the articles about Sensipets, I mention the Kickstarter we are aiming for in the fall. Once that gets closer, balancing the game and the economy is in the cards and something we will be actively working on. Because there should be a strong amount of games and ways to spend SC at that time.
I hope that all makes sense, and I really do appreciate you highlighting it as a concern - and I want to make sure you know that I am right there with you, and will be looking into it.
