Update for anyone else trying to find the answer, I figured it out! You get seeds by exchanging 7 apples to Linds in exchange for seed packets. What I usually do is save 4 of each kind of apple, so I can feed one to each of my pets, and give Linds any excess apples that I already have enough of. Then, Linds will give you the seed packet, and you can open it by clicking on the packet, and then choosing the option to open it. ^^
