Hey everyone! Move is finally “done”. We are now on the road and appreciate everyone’s patience with us during this time 🙏

While Heffrad drives; I’m coding up some goodies. One thing I’ve been looking into is improving the new notification system. It’s been very …controversial… haha. So while I’ve been putting thought into it - I’m curious if any players have any thoughts on a better system for it.

I know some of the big issues brought up are: color is pretty abrasive, style interrupts game feel, many notifications can block the screen. Any thoughts on how we can improve them is appreciated  (also if there’s something you don’t like other than what I listed, please let me know!)

I'm also working through support emails and then starting on catching up in the forums.

    Thanks everyone!

    Super excited about October!

With regards to the notification system, a lot of the notifications seem unnecessary. Specifically:

    - "This tile is already flipped over" one for Memory. Sometimes I tap a flipped card by accident.

    - The one for Cherry giving you soup. Personally I feel it could just replace her text on the page.

    - Most of the ones related to requests. "X isn't on a Request", "X request doesn't exist", "X has already completed this, etc. I get them a LOT and it's usually related to a bug on the page itself where a request has duplicated or the complete quest bar hasn't disappeared. I think if the kinks of the request system were worked out, these popups wouldn't be necessary, especially since there's a modal that pops up to tell you what your pet got from their request.

I think over all you could just remove it honestly. I can't really think of any that are necessary or enhance my experience. I think finding ways to remove them entirely would be better.

Hope you have a good drive! Take it easy! :)

Agreeing with this. Lately the "x isn't on a request/doesn't exist" has been a really big problem because when it pops up, I actually have to F5 the page to get it to leave since the delay bar disappears and then the notification just stays.

Also, out of genuine curiosity, why aren't you making these posts as News? The forums have the same small group of folks posting on them daily, roughly 9-15 at best, and the updates you've been making in addition to requesting feedback are things folks site-wide would want to know about. It's not an uncommon site to see updates as part of News, even if they're bite-sized, so why the choice?

I agree with a lot of what @ArtsyAxolotl told said, a lot of the notifications feel redundant. They can also cover up some of the options in the Elements game as well - granted, this only happens if you click a specific element several times fast, but it's still enough to be a inconvience IMO.

Also, can toys and plushies be a little more durable? I just bought 5+ items for my pets to play with and only a few of them made it to two plays, with most of them getting destroyed after one. It feels like a massive money sink constantly buying these items. Admittedly I am buying the cheaper ones, but I feel like they can survive a little longer than two plays at best.

    But I ain't got a hammer / And I ain't got a pencil / And I ain't got a lasso / So I'm doing it the hard way / Like a post post-modern man
