Thought I'd make this with the remakes and new game coming out. I've always been a fan of all the games really and love talking about it. oh that and I love shiny breeding, or shiny hunting in general. I used to shiny breed and give away the shinies in wonder trade when it first came out, I'd happily shiny breed pokemon for anyone that plays. what's everyone's favorite pokemon? First game or favorite one? Meinshao has always been one of my faves, that and porygon. started with leaf green so not the earliest. my fave will always be ruby though, have the best memories playing it

Pokemon will always be like.. a subtle obsession of mine. I say subtle because I go through phases where I don't really think about it or play the games.. but I've had a game for every generation of main line games to come out, and I've played a fair share of spin off games.

First game was Blue! Though I think I started playing it a bit late as I remember gold/silver coming out not too long after I first played. My favorite would probably be Ruby or Pearl, though honestly it's hard to pick. I just have a bad habit of playing and never actually beating most of the games lol.

I was addicted to wonder trading for a long time.. I would breed full boxes of somewhat hard to get pokemon, name them, breed egg moves etc and sit there and just trade out a whole box all at once.

My favorite pokemon is basically impossible to answer so I wont even try to pick just one lol. I have a soft spot for meowth (all of them) and haunter, though.

I'm SUPER excited for Legends: Arceus! I will definitely be getting it. The Diamond/Pearl remakes I might skip this time though as I really don't have the money to be spending on games I wont play fully, especially since it's going to be more expensive as a Switch game. @_@

I really enjoy a lot of the spin off games.. I wish they would come out with another pokemon Ranger title but idk how well it would work on the switch without a stylus.. still, those were fun games.

Now I just spend most of my pokemon-obsession-time playing in an ARPG on deviantart and drawing and breeding them haha!

@eccentricbirdie I get the whole going through phases with it. Now that I think about it, Diamond/Pearl was pretty good too. wonder trading really is so fun, I used to breed perfect IVs as well back when i was hardcore about it too. Meowth and Haunter are pretty great, especially love haunter but honestly all ghosts are pretty good! I know when Legends comes out, I'm going to be super obsessed with it so i can't wait either. you ever play mystery dungeon? was one of my fave games as well

My interest in Pokemon comes in waves. I know it's something that I'll always be a fan of, but lately I find myself pretty disinterested in the franchise. I'm not a genwunner, but I feel like I prefer the older generations than the newer ones. There's a lot of new pokemon I like a lot but I think the nostalgia/childhood memories for the older games makes those feel more special. I feel like the first pokemon game I really played were the Stadium games on the N64, but the first core title I played was Pokemon Diamond. Generation 3 will always be my favorite though. I was too young at the time to play them when they were new, but I remember my sister letting me play her copy of Saphire occasionally. It was only years later (like when I was in my mid-teens) when I got a copy of Ruby and absolutely fell in love with it.

My favorite pokemon is Mr. Mime, as I write this I'm sitting next to a small collection I have of the species lol. Maybe take the "My interest in Pokemon comes in waves" comment with a grain of salt though, Detective Pikachu is my favorite film of 2019 and I kinda want that giant Arcanine plush they unveiled, lol.

    But I ain't got a hammer / And I ain't got a pencil / And I ain't got a lasso / So I'm doing it the hard way / Like a post post-modern man

@eek I can understand the preference for older games. Sometimes I miss the sprites they used to use and wish they'd go back but i don't hate the 3D. I never played too much of stadium though, the only way i could play it was with my cousin at the time but it was pretty fun from what I could remember. Their are a lot of ruby lovers and that makes me happy! Mr. Mime is pretty great, especially after playing as one in unite. its just fun placing walls and slamming people against it lol

I like both the sprites and the 3d graphics - I'm not against Nintendo/Game Freak reusing the same models from X and Y, I'm tired of them recycling the same animations from those games. At least with the sprites you'd get different renditions of the characters, which prior to the days of Bulbapedia I felt gave players more of a reason to play different versions of the same game. Granted, with how many pokemon there are now I bet it would be difficult to make sprites for everyone. D: Stadium is one of those games that are more fun with a friend or sibling, I recall me and my sister playing multiplayer on it a lot. I haven't played Unite in a while, but it's a fun one! Unfortunately I'm not very good with Mr. Mime, but I really enjoyed playing Talonflame. The Fly move that pokemon has I found really helpful.

@eek ahh I can agree on the animation, especially when pokemon colosseum was one of the first few pokemon games I played. in those games (stadium and colosseum) pokemon just had a lot of expression with their animations and I always thought it was cool. I am a big fan of the sprites but yeah it would be hard getting all the newer pokemon into sprite form. pfft I don't think I was too good at the minigames in stadium but it was fun. I haven't played unite in a while either but Mr. Mime and Cramorant were one of my faves to use. oh was wondering, did you end up liking the galarian form of Mr. Mime?
